Car rentals in Thailand

Thailands highway system is a modern network of roads. For a family, renting a vehicle to travel around Thailand may be the most convenient and economical form of transportation. Car rental is essential if you want to explore areas outside of major cities such as Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket. If you plan to drive in Thailand, get an international driver's license before your vacation.

Tips For Driving in Thailand

1. Stay alert for motorcycles. There are many motorcycles on the roads in Thailand. The majority of the drivers go very slow. Always look twice before making a turn as there maybe a motorcycle right beside your vehicle.

2. Yield to the bigger vehicle. Trucks and buses expect smaller vehicles to give them the right of way.

3. Buy a good map of Thailand. The highway numbering system in Thailand does not include directional markings such as north, south, east or west. You will need to determine your direction by knowing which town or village is next on the map.
