Family Travel In Thailand

There are many ways for your family to travel in Thailand. Most of the forms of transportation work well when traveling with children. We have covered many miles by trains, planes, and automobiles. Each mode of transportation has advantages as well as disadvantages. Buses are an economical way to travel, but we do not use them for family travel in Thailand. They are very confining and keeping my children entertained on a long bus ride is not one of the things I want to do on vacation.

Trains

Trains in Thailand provide an economical way to travel throughout Thailand. They are surprisingly comfortable, also. The main drawback to train travel is the speed, there isn't any. Trains rarely go faster than 40 miles per hour, so it takes a long time to reach your destination. However, the train ride can be quite an adventure and most children will enjoy the seeing the countryside. More about Thailand Trains

Planes

Planes are definitely the fastest form of transportation in Thailand. Of course, air travel is always faster than land travel for long distances. Buses

I do not recommend buses for travel with your family, although they do have some advantages over other forms of transport. Buses are very economical and they will get you to your destination faster than a train ride. They are more suitable for families with older children. Automobiles

I still prefer four wheels when it comes to convenience for travel. Driving on the left side of the road can be a bit of a challenge for most of us.
