Thailand Information

Thailand is certainly one of the most beautiful, affordable, exciting and friendliest countries in the world, complete with every modern convenience. Five star hotels cost less than a stateside Holiday Inn, while beach bungalows run for dozens of pounds less than an English B&B. Thailand offers gourmet meals for pennies. The shopping is extraordinary, the jewelry world-class, and transportation intuitively simple. Few places offer such affordable luxury, and fewer still greet tourists with such genuinely open arms. It is utterly impossible not to enjoy yourself in the 'Land of Smiles.'

From November to the end of February the climate is much less trying with a cooling North East breeze and a reduction in the humidity level. This is also the main tourist season, and the best time to visit Thailand. More on the climate of Thailand...

Study Thai Language

Though it's not really necessary to get by, you will undoubtedly have an easier and more enjoyable experience in Thailand from any time you spend learning the Thai language. Most Thais don't expect a foreigner to be able to speak any of their language, and are often visibly surprised if you can string a few sentences together. It's also encouraging how many people will tell you that you speak Thai well, no matter how limited your command of the language really is. Even with only a fairly small vocabulary, you will find it a lot easier to get discounted prices at shops and markets and to make friends with the locals.  More ways to study thai language...
